Samsung Galaxy S4

Just two more days until the launch of the highly anticipated Galaxy S4. The Galaxy S3 proved itself as an amazing smart phone, so what makes the Galaxy S4 different? Let's start with the quad core processor; which not only makes the phone run smoother, but is also more able to handle applications and multitasking. The screen has also been increased to 5 inches of full HD. The picture is sharper and brighter as well as easier to see in sunlight compared to it's competitors. Improvements have been made to the camera increasing the megapixels to 13. Having zero lag time decreases the chance of blurred pictures and functions like Erase Mode will actually make distractions in the picture simply disappear. Add in the air gestures and there just isn't anything else like it on the market.

Want to try it for yourself? The phone will be available in stores Thursday May 23rd.

Earth Day Green Tips

 Happy Earth Day, everyone!

Electronics have become second nature in our society. They are what we use to communicate with friends and family, express ourselves, improve work productivity and stay entertained through a multitude of applications. Here are a few tips that can make a big difference for mother Earth.

1. Go Rechargable - All the devices we sell at Shock City Cellular have rechargeable batteries, but the majority of electronics today still use disposable alkaline batteries. Make a point to purchase batteries that are rechargable. They can recharge in as little as 15 minutes, and will save you money in the long term.

2. Kill Vampire Power - Even though your cell phone and tablet aren't plugged into the outlet, the charger itself draws power. Be sure to unplug the charger before stepping out for the day.

3. Recycle Your Devices - Rather than throwing your electronics out with the garbage and potentially risking chemical releases in our ecosytem, swing into your local Shock City Cellular store to trade in your device. Some clients may be eligible for an instant discount on new products and services.

Everyday Smart Tools

Technology is moving faster than ever, and with approximately half of Americans owning a smartphone, there are new innovative smart tools that we can use on a daily basis. From apps that help us curb eating too fast to smart baby monitors, here are a few helpful tools that can better your life with the technology that we offer at Shock City Cellular.

HAPIfork- Eating too fast can lead to poor digestion and, let's face it, a belly that's larger than desired. With the HAPIfork, you can measure how long it took to eat your meal, the amount of "fork servings" taken per minute and intervals between fork servings. The information can then be uploaded via USB to your Online Dashbaord to track your progress.

Aria Wi-Fi Smart Scale - The Aria Smart Scale not only gives you your weight, but can calculate your body fat percentage and body mass index to provide a weight trend report. You can set goals and track weight loss.

Beam Brush- With the Bluetooth-enabled Beam Brush, you can improve your dental health and track your cleaning habits.

Withings Smart Baby Monitor- This Baby Monitor lets parents watch their baby in the crib through their smartphone. Not only does this provide HD Video directly to the smartphone, but also allows you to monitor noise, motion and room temperature.

iDevices iGrill - The iGrill is a wireless Bluetooth-enabled meat thermometer that provides the ability to monitor food from up to 200 fe et away. It also sends an alert when the meat is cooked and ready to eat.
